RADIO READY – FOR YOU, AS A BROADCASTER
Radio Ready for Connected Cars is a broadcaster-led campaign to ensure radio remains accessible, prominent and discoverable in connected vehicles. We work to provide all campaign members with a clear vision and focus, sharing insights and resources to develop a consistent, unified approach.
As an industry-wide initiative, Radio Ready welcomes support and involvement from all broadcasters.
For broadcaster members, we provide a shared definition of what accessible, prominent and discoverable radio means in the connected car, led always by the needs of our listeners. This alignment among members ensures:
- Our priorities remain clear and direct.
- Our stated requirements are always structured and consistent.
- Our approach to metadata input achieves a standard of best practice.
- Our agreed positioning and language provide the most effective way of engaging with platform providers and car makers.
As well as the campaign's work with policy makers and legislators, we have a clear focus on the foundation of what makes radio in the connected car work in practice: metadata, identity, and linking across broadcast, apps, and voice control.
In the connected car, radio must look as good as it sounds. Metadata is not decoration - it drives discovery, usability, and audience trust. At Ready Ready, we work with broadcaster members to improve metadata quality and coverage and assist in the wider implementation of broadcast app linking. We're also actively investigating technological developments, particularly in the field of agentic AI, to maintain our presence and prominence in the listener experience.
